About

Hi ! I’m Mariange, a young entrepreneur who noticed something missing from the toy shelves: truly authentic Black plush dolls. Where was the proper representation: the celebration of truly Afro hair, the richness of brown skin, the beauty of African-inspired design?
I couldn’t find it, so I decided to create it.
Taking my courage in both hands, I began to sketch. One year later, I’m proud to introduce the first collection of Mikora Dolls, starting with the Taliane doll, a piece inspired by my own cultural heritage.
My vision for this business is simple and heartfelt:
We believe that toys shape how children see the world.
Our dolls are created with this purpose at their core.
Every authentic detail, from radiant brown skin and textured coils to the vibrant patterns of African-inspired dress, is designed to reflect a story often untold in our media.
For Black children, this reflection is more than play. It is a mirror of their inherent beauty, nurturing self-esteem, cultural pride, and a deep sense of belonging.
For all children, it becomes a joyful first lesson in empathy, diversity, and the celebration of difference, showing that what makes us unique is what makes us beautiful.
We don’t just craft dolls. We craft companions for connection, keystones of confidence, and celebrations of heritage. We are here to cultivate a world where every child can see themselves, and each other, with wonder, respect, and pride.
Thank you for being here. Follow our journey as the brand continues to grow.
